Traffic Signal Retiming, Manatee County, FDOT District 1
Mobility is increased and safety is improved with the implementation of our coordinated signal timings. Our signal timings reduce congestion, delay, and congestion related crashes by improving the flow of traffic. The project included 134 intersections on eleven different corridors in Manatee County and included data collection during the peak season (January through March). This project was performed concurrently with the Manatee County Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS) project, so that once the ATMS equipment was installed, we were able to program the signal timings in the new traffic management center.
