Osprey Relocation for Halls River Bridge Replacement, Citrus County, FDOT District 7

FDA’s scientists participated in the relocation of an active Osprey nest in Homosassa. During a weekend break in construction, a pair of Osprey built a nest on the top of a crane 120 feet above ground. As a result, a new wooden pole with a nest installed within the project limits. Three eggs and the nest were removed and relocated to the new site.
