Peace River Trail from Mount Pisgah Road to US 98, Polk County, FDOT District 1
Our design of this meandering, pedestrian trail protected mature trees by utilizing boardwalk segments over environmentally sensitive areas in the Peace River floodplain. The 2.6 mile off-road trail provides the public with structured access to areas within the Fort Meade Outdoor Recreation Area. Portions of the trail provide access to the Peace River near the Mount Pisgah Road Bridge. We performed a review of listed species, established wetland jurisdictional limits, prepared a sovereign submerged lands easement, and obtained permits from SWFWMD and USACE.
